Guided spring hike with Alberto, the proprietor
Great circular hike from our hotel through the apple blossom and up to St. Christoph
Duration: 3 hrs / Distance: 8.2 km / Difference in elevation: 420 metres
We start directly from the hotel and make for the ruins of Kasatsch Castle; this section is rather steep, but still easy. The complex still retains its original appearance as it has never been altered. The oval curtain wall dates back to the 12th century, whilst the rest of the remains are more recent. Between 1999 and 2002 Kasatsch Castle was extensively restored and consolidated.
From here we follow the adventure trail as far as Prissian to the Church of St. Christoph; this section is a little hilly. The Church of St. Christoph on the Vorbichl trail dates from the 13th century; only the tower with its double arched windows has been preserved with the rest being rebuilt in 1603.
The return journey follows the felt art trail (Filzkunstweg) as far as Prissian and then back to the hotel. Walkers will marvel at the international felt art hiking trail with its unique combination of nature, art and adventure. There is a multitude of fascinating felt art works to discover here, created by artists from all over the world. Felt is a natural product that nature will also take back over time.
